Honestly, I became a secret shopper accidentally. I went to a very popular fast food restaurant that I have been to many times before. But, on this particular visit, the food was not very good. I went to the counter to ask if they could refund my meal and the girl behind the counter was curt and rude to me, which I really didn't appreciate, since I was very polite. After refunding my meal, I asked to speak to the manager, who gave me the phone number for their corporate office. I felt that my experience should be shared with management so it would not happen to me or anyone else again. The next day, I called and spoke with the General Manager, who was very nice and said that he would handle my complaint personally. Then he told me that the restaurant was a  franchise and that I could call the owner if I wanted to. I figured, "why not?", since he was the top of the chain of command! After speaking with the owner on the phone, he invited me back to meet him for a complimentary meal! I was very impressed that he would go this far. I met him that afternoon for lunch, and he was very apologetic and told me to go ahead and order while we sat and talked. We sat down and chatted a bit and I told him that I was currently not working and he asked me if I would like a job evaluating another one of his franchises. I told him I would be glad to and a few days later, a form arrived from a company that he uses to hire people to evaluate restaurants and retail stores. I called them to confirm the date I would be going and asked if there were other people like myself that were doing this. They explained their entire operation and I couldn't believe it! The rest is history! Now, I receive several emails per week to evaluate different places! It's really amazing and I even get to pick and choose which places I want to evaluate. There's no charge, no obligation, and I get paid to do what I would be doing anyway!

I wish I could take you with me on one of my assignments and show you just how easy it really is!
