Focus Group Participation

Another activity you can take part in between shopping assignments is participating in focus groups. There are several markets research companies in Canada who are looking for people to participate as members in their focus groups. Focus groups consist of a small group of people brought together to informally discuss their opinions and views on various issues including new advertising, food products, travel and movies. The pay for focus group participation is excellent because of the time involved (usually 2-4 hours) you can be paid from $40-150.

Call or email the companies in your area to find out if they are accepting new focus group participants. If they are looking for new participants they will give you instructions on how to apply. Also check your local yellow pages under the headings of Market Research or Market Analysis.
Marketing Research Association

The Canadian Association of Marketing Research Organizations has an online directory with approximately 25 Market Research companies located across Canada, if you find companies in your area use their contact information to call or email them and ask if they are looking for new participants for marketing research:
